Doug has been a member with us at Boom and is always a friendly face!  He’s always ambitious to push himself, to learn new things, and is dedicated to improving.  He’s always generous and asking how others progress is going!  His consistency, hard-work, and dedication to improving everyday is impressive and inspiring to everyone he encounters with us at Boom!

Q: What is your occupation?

A: Lead Provider Configuration Analyst for Moda Health – good ol’ desk job!

Q: What challenges do you face or have overcome?

A: Mobility and posture have been my main challenges so far with lifting. I’ve been inactive my whole life until I started coming to Boom so trying to squat, bench and deadlift at first wasn’t pretty. Still have a lot of work to do, Josh has helped me with this and I’ll continue to improve!  Making mobility as important as getting stronger has helped a lot.

Q: What’s your favorite food

A: All Chinese food.. mmm. Haven’t had any in almost a year, should probably treat myself.

Q: What are your favorite movements/workouts?

A: Deadlifts are for sure my favorite, then squats, then bench.

Q: What is your favorite type of music to listen to when you workout, and when you’re at home? 

A: I usually forget my headphones, the 25% of the time I do remember though I listen to Viking war music at the gym. To relax I enjoy Clint Mansell type instrumental music.

Q: What do you like to do outside of the gym?

A: Spending time with the wife and dogs and video games when I have time.

Q: What keeps you motivated?

A: Getting stronger!  My goal is to keep slowly improving and do a powerlifting meet when I’m 40, 3 years to go.
